पात्रे त्यागी गुणे रागी संविभागी च बन्धुषु |
शास्त्रे बोद्धा रणे योद्धा पुरुषः पञ्चलक्षणम् ||
सुपात्र व्यक्तियों का सहायक, गुणी जनों का  आदर करने वाला, पैतृक संपत्ति को अपने भाइयों  में समान भागों मे वितरित करने वाला,  शास्त्रों का ज्ञाता , तथा युद्ध में योद्धा के रूप में कुशल , ये पांच विशेषतायें एक महापुरुष के लक्षण कहे गये हैं |

A benefactor and helper of deserving persons,  appreciator and patron of talented and virtuous persons,  sharing of wealth equally with one's brothers,  being well versed in Shastras,  and as  a warrior during a battle, these are the five traits of an illustrious and great person.
